Smoking Inspectors Afraid of Getting Attacked

Smoking Inspectors from the Dutch Food and Commodities Authority (NVWA) no longer dare to control the smoking prohibition in hotels and cafes alone, out of fear of being attacked by café owners and clientele. From now on, the inspectors will only control in pairs and with police assistance, says the NVWA. The Parliament considers this unacceptable and asks the government to intervene.
