Dutch Professor: Dementia Will Become the Major Cause of Death

Martijn Katan, a retired professor of nutrition at the Free University of Amsterdam predicts that many of those who are today in their 50’s and 60’s will die from dementia.  Next year, according to the Bureau of Statistics, dementia will become the main cause of death in the Netherlands as a result of the decline of heart attacks as the leading cause of death. He said that the possibility that  euthanasia will be expanded and become a politically correct ideology cannot be excluded.  This the more so as society’s costs for health care are continually increasing.
